SySI Net Care
Educational program in the cross-border region of Slovakia and Austria
SySI Net Care is a cross-border cooperation project between Slovakia and Austria and their border regions.
-
To contribute to systemic and sustainable integration in the provision of social services in the SK–AT border region, especially in the area of care for dependent persons, through networking key actors from the public and non-public sectors, social service providers, and stakeholders from Austria and Slovakia.
The goal of SySI Net Care is:
-
To identify examples of good practice on both sides of the border and, through dissemination activities, raise awareness of possible solutions in this area.
These goals will be achieved through a combination of research activities, educational activities, and activities aimed at jointly identifying obstacles to system integration and jointly seeking solutions.
At the same time, SySI Net Care will bring together relevant actors in order to stimulate discussion about the potential to improve the environment and organization, and to introduce innovations into social services, with the aim of improving the quality of life of people dependent on care.
Outcomes:
-
Analysis of the social services system for persons dependent on care at various levels in the border region (using desk research methods and expert interviews).
-
Expert round tables and workshops aimed at identifying obstacles in the provision of social services and proposing new solutions that improve the quality of life in the affected regions.
-
Specialized educational module.

Communication will take place through:
-
Pop-up think tank with stakeholders from the programme area
-
A catalogue of socially innovative best-practice examples in the programme area
-
Strategic recommendations – policy brief (report)
The project is coordinated by EUBA (the Faculty of National Economy & the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Economics in Bratislava) with the support of partners Social Innovators, cooperative, Verein Social Innovation Wien, Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften Burgenland GmbH in Eisenstadt, and the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) in Vienna.
